2024 Spring Meeting

With the 2024 Wisconsin season wrapped up, it's time to join your coaching colleagues with your reflections and ideas as we plan for the next school year at the WFCA Spring Meeting. There will be officer elections, formulation of the tentative 2024-25 calendar, and decisions on various proposals.

The spring meeting will be on Saturday, April 27 in Madison at Vel Phillips Memorial High School, 201 S Gammon Rd. A virtual online option will also be available for the morning discussion session and the afternoon business meeting.

For the high school, enter the main parking lot on the south side of the building from either Mineral Point Road or S Gammon Road. Enter the main doors, turn left, and find the large study hall down the hall.

Due to the Crazylegs race in the downtown Madison & UW campus areas, it may be easier to reach the school via Beltline Highway (Highway 12), exiting at S Gammon Rd or Mineral Point Rd.

Schedule for Saturday April 27:

10:00 AM - 11:45 Rotating discussion session - 10 to 15 minutes per topic, with topic suggestions being solicited before or during the meeting. Topics may include rule interpretations or improvements, trends in student performance styles, coaching strategies, team management strategies, WFCA initiatives.

Election of Officers:

There will be an election for president-elect (3-year series) and treasurer (2-year term). Current treasurer Shelly Uttke is not seeking re-election, so we are looking for two dedicated members to join the association's leadership in these roles. If are thinking about running for office, contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or This email address is being protected from spambots. 2024-25 Calendar:

The draft version of the calendar will be discussed at the spring meeting and confirmed with a vote at the fall meeting.

As a heads up, there are five Saturdays in March in 2025. As we have done in the past, schools who want to host on the fifth Saturday in March will not have legacy rights to that weekend, because it will not exist in future calendars. Should a school wish to host on the fifth Saturday (March 29, 2025), they could host for this one year, retaining their original legacy date for future years.
